WHERE TO GET FLOWER ESSENCES

Flower essences come in little dark-colored bottles about 2-inches to 4-inches high with an eyedropper top. Most healthfood stores carry popular flower essences, like Bach's Rescue Remedy. I don't go by popularity, so I end up buying my essences directly from the manufacturer. My preferred brand is Flower Essence Society (FES; http://www.fesflowers.com/index.htm; http://www.flowersociety.org/) located in the Nevada City area of California. There are other brands, but FES gives me a quantity discount, they are cheaper than Bach, there are more of them than Bach, and I like FES bottles. Most companies carry the original Bach essences, plus lots more. Besides Bach and FES, there are a bunch of other companies now in the flower essence business.

INFLUENCES THAT REDUCE EFFECTIVENESS (STORAGE)

Don't let the flower essence bottles touch each other. Touching bottles contaminate the other bottle's flower essence vibrationally. Keep a thin piece of cardboard or distance between bottles. Don't shake the bottles. Try not let bottles clank against each other. If you have to transport the bottles, think about how you're going to do it ahead of time.

Don't store the bottles near microwave ovens, electrical outlets, anything electronic, or in bright light including sunlight. Keep the bottles at room temperature in a darkened place; don't refrigerate or freeze.

Find a cupboard, shelf or even cardboard box where the bottles are away from the above detrimental influences. If you have no other organizer, if you obtained the essences via mailorder (at least FES is this way), keep the box the essence bottles came in -- you'll notice there is cardboard between each bottle.

HOW I GIVE FLOWER ESSENCES TO MY CATS (there are other methods)

Put 3-5 drops of each flower essence in the cat's drinking water, or in wetfood, or both. I use one, two or three flower essences at a time, four tops (and only if I have to). Other animals can partake of the essences with no ill effects, like if several pets drink from one water dish. Some people find this way to be ineffective, but it's worked for me, whereas I tried the dosage bottle method (below) more than once, and my cats hate me for days afterwards, not to mention the grief they give me trying to get it into their mouths.

KEEP A WRITTEN LOG SHEET

Create a written log sheet (or journal) for each cat you are treating. Note down the date, hour, what essence(s), how essence given, and after some hours any noticable changes in the cat. I found if I didn't keep a log, I got all confused but good.

HOW ARE FLOWER ESSENCES DIFFERENT FROM HERBS

Flower essences are a form of herb, but a very special herb. Flower essences use ONLY the FLOWER/BLOSSOM of a plant, whereas herbs can be from other parts of a plant such as leaves, bark, stem and roots.
