From the director:
The first time I met Nikole, she and her husband
Sean had just moved to Morgan Hill and called Town Cats to borrow
traps and find out about spaying and neutering the strays in the
yard of their new home.
Well they finished up the project of taking care
of the strays in their neighborhood by neutering them all and providing
food/water/shelter. The next time they came to Town Cats was one
evening when I was there alone scooping litter boxes, doing the
night shift and they brought medical supplies to us as a donation
because their cat had just passed away. They told me that they wanted
to volunteer for Town Cats. So Nikole started by coming every Friday
evening doing the night shift at the shelter, dishing out the evening
wet food and treats to our 90+ residents, scooping litter boxes,
sweeping, cage cleaning, topping up water and dry food bowls. Not
glamorous work, but Nikole is so full of energy and life - she is
always smiling!
Nikoke and Sean carpool into work and expanded
their volunteering activities to include picking up cats from the
vets in San Jose and Milpitas and bringing back to our shelter in
Morgan Hill. As if that's not enough, she helped set up and tear
down our adoption fair display and transport all the cats to the
new city of SJ shelter in September for their grand opening, and
did a fabulous job of cleaning all the cat scratch posts and condos
at our shelter with a steam vac plus pulling out the cages and really
scrubbing to get our shelter in tip top shape for our October National
Feral Cat Day Open House.
The cats are really blessed to have someone like
Nikole and her supportive husband, Sean who's also a cat lover;
to help them and give so much of their time and energy to help them.
Thank you Nikole! We love you!
A
big paws up to Nikole! Send us an email
if you'd like to volunteer to help the cats!
