Meet the Volunteer of the Month (September 2006) -
Laila!

Meet Laila, this month's (September, 2006) Town Cats Volunteer of the Month!

Volunteer of the Month for September is Laila! Laila's young, 13 years old, but she is very reliable, has never missed a day without notifying us ahead of time and we never worry when Laila's there at our adoption fair at the Pet Food Express store in San Jose every Saturday! People like Laila really make a difference in the cats we work with lives to help them find loving permanent homes and we cannot thank her enough! A big paws up to Laila!

In her words:

I’ve been volunteering for Town Cats almost a year now, and every Saturday, these cats and kittens never cease to amaze me with the things they do. The work and effort put into setting up the cages in rewarded by the compassion the cats offer. It’s been a great experience working with Rosi and the cats, it’s improved my communication skills, and taught me respect beyond what I’d ever hoped to imagine. I’d first heard about Town Cats through my friend, Susie Hood, who volunteers Saturdays with me. She told me about it and I decided that it sounded like fun. I was immediately reassured that volunteering for Town Cats was fun, even though every now and then it becomes hectic. Spending my Saturday’s here never occurred to me as a waste of a day, instead, being with the cats and kittens makes the hours fly by faster then any other time. The calm, safe environment of the fair is a great place to be, and I feel great knowing that I’ve helped to find these loving cats great homes. I’ve enjoyed my year so far, and I’m looking forward to the many years to come. I’d like to thank Town Cats for giving me the opportunity to be in the lives of these cats, as well as giving them the chance to touch mine.

Thank you Laila for your great contribution to the cats and all your help! Big Paws up for Laila!!!
