HOW MANY CATS?
There once was a time when I had just one cat
But he needed a friend and so that was that.
But when the friend came, she invited her brother;
In less than a month, followed "Fifi," their mother.
Four cats now - that's the end I say
But I encountered a litter in my garage one day.
I found excellent homes for kits one, two and three,
But kit number four and Mom stayed on with me.
Kept indoors, all neutered - my family six strong;
I said - NO MORE - but not for long.
"June" was abandoned right near my job.
The day she was spayed, along came "Bob."
Well this all took place some years back
Now how many cats? I stopped keeping track.
I spend hours each day giving scratches and pats,
Some people have rugs; I have wall-to-wall cats!
