Judy Schroeder started volunteering with
Town Cats about three years ago.
She had found a lost cat and provided foster care to him and asked
Town Cats to help her find him a home.
When she visited the TC shelter, she was hooked and started coming
in regularly helping with the morning cleaning, feeding and medicating.
Judy has been a literal life saver for the cats! She volunteers
at the TC shelter five days a week.
Even though we have upwards of 80 cats at TC at any one time, Judy
knows every one by name and takes inventory every morning petting
each one and doting on them. Even though she's swamped with tons
of work to do, she takes the time out of her busy day to give extra
love and attention to the older and more sensitive cats by taking
them out of their cages by carrying them around TC and putting them
in the sun or just holding them and giving them love.
In addition to all this, Judy and her husband Gary, who luckily
also is a cat lover extraordinaire; open their home and hearts to
foster kittens that come into TC as orphaned. Judy and Gary also
take care of a large colony of feral cats every day too. The cats
and kittens at TC and everywhere are very lucky to have people in
the world like Judy to take care of them.
