Giving Tuesday 2022

Town Cats Giving Tuesday 2022

Now more than ever we are called to make a difference.

Together We Give.

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, the idea has grown into a global movement that inspires millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Every year Town Cats participates in Giving Tuesday to encourage the community to support animal welfare in a meaningful way and as a way to kickstart the giving season with an opportunity to support the causes that matter to you most.

Established by Rosie Mirko in 1997 as a grass-roots brick-and-mortar facility, Town Cats, has always strived to rescue cats that otherwise would not have a chance. Today, our organization has expanded into a robust rescue and resource center led by a team of outstanding and knowledgeable staff members, volunteers, and fosters.

At Town Cats, we don’t shy away from tough cases; we believe that Every Cat Matters. Young or old, healthy or special needs, friendly or feral: we provide a safe haven for them all. We rescue cats that are suffering from illness or injury, which places them at risk of euthanasia in municipal shelters. Sometimes they need unexpected surgeries, diagnostics, or additional treatments in order to get them adoption-ready. Town Cats has a dedicated fund to provide medical treatment for these cases, called The Angel Fund. This fund is set up to help to cover extensive veterinary costs that are above and beyond standard program operations.

We want to inspire you to become an Angel for cats in need by donating to the Town Cats Angel Fund this Giving Tuesday!

Our goal is to raise $45K for this year’s Giving Tuesday. Help us meet the needs of our current and incoming rescues today by supporting our no-kill mission to save more cats in the community because Every Cat Matters.

For cats like Earl, a cute, loving potato who needs a FURever home. Earl had extensive dental issues when he came to Town Cats, but with our Angel Fund we were able to get him the care he needed.

For cats like Beans and Wilbur, who we got an emergency call about when our shelter was closed for construction. The two were on the needs rescue list at another shelter due to eye issues.

Our staff didn’t think twice and rallied together, with the support of our fosters and vet friends, we were able to save the kittens.

For cats like Tora, who needed an emergency feeding tube, and is now living her best live in her FURever home.

For cats like June, who was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy after undergoing a $2500 MRI. After a two years in our care, different medications and many vet visits we finally got a treatment plan that worked! June was adopted by her foster in September and we could not be happier for her. This would have not happened without the help of our Angel Fund.

June after being adopted! Happy Tails June!
