Town Cats is a network of truly dedicated people who are deeply committed to helping cats and people. We work to alleviate the suffering of stray, abandoned, orphaned, unwanted, and free-roaming, community cats. We sponsor innovative programs and find loving, lifetime homes for homeless cats. Volunteer & Events Coordinator

We are seeking a motivated, self-starting individual to oversee our Volunteer & Events programs. Town Cats has a very strong team who work together for the success of the organization, and we are largely successful because of the hundreds of volunteers that support our staff. 

PURPOSE/FUNCTION:

The Volunteer & Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the Town Cats volunteer program as well as establishing and coordinating an events plan to provide community outreach. The coordinator will work closely with the Town Cats staff to identify volunteer needs, and then to design and implement a program to source and screen volunteers, match them to positions, provide appropriate training, establish scheduling processes, and work with the staff to ensure all volunteers are working effectively in their roles. In addition, the coordinator will design and implement appropriate volunteer recognition and development programs to ensure volunteers and Town Cats are getting the most out of the time spent working together.

This part-time position is primarily remote, working on-site 20% of the time, with weekend events in the Bay Area required.

Foster Coordinator

PURPOSE/FUNCTION:

Responsible for managing all aspects of our cat foster program, including intake and placement of cats, care for cats while in our foster program, and coordination of foster volunteers, including 24-hour assistance for all foster volunteers; and managing and maintaining all foster programs and materials.

Must have a flexible schedule, evening and weekend shifts are required. Minimum of 2 days at physical shelter location. Must be available by email and phone to handle foster emergencies. Hours will vary depending on the time of year/season.
