We work to alleviate the suffering of stray, abandoned, orphaned, unwanted, and free-roaming, community cats. We sponsor innovative programs and find loving, lifetime homes for homeless cats. We maintain a large network of foster homes and a no-kill shelter in Morgan Hill.

We are currently seeking candidates for one open positions:

Shelter  Manager
The Shelter Manager is  responsible for managing the day to day shelter operations of Town Cats. As such, this position oversees the care of cats in the shelter, the overall facility, directly manages all Cat Care staff and volunteers who work at the shelter, ensures that the intake process is operating smoothly, manages the Customer Service process, handles administrative tasks such as filing, ordering supplies, and data entry into our animal tracking system and provides oversight to the Cat Care staff. This position reports into the Managing Director, and works closely with the other staff leads. The position is part time, 20-25 hours per week, and the work schedule will be worked out mutually between the candidate and the Managing Director. Most of the work will be performed at the shelter in Morgan Hill, with some time spent at other shelters in the area looking for potential cats to transfer, but there is the opportunity for occasional work from home.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, have at least 4 years of management experience in supervising and hiring employees,  and at least 2 years of experience with an animal welfare organization or veterinary practice. You will need to be an excellent communicator, both oral and written, be very organized, and have excellent people and cat skills. This is a great opportunity for someone returning to the workforce after a break, or for someone who wants to use their skills and expertise to help out cats and the community.
