These guidelines include tips on what you should do to prepare your animal for adoption and how to screen potential adopters to make the right match for your animal. Cats do best in rehoming situations when they are rehomed by their owner and bypass a shelter environment. We encourage you to do make the most effort to prevent your cat from sitting in a shelter environment awaiting a new home.

Maia
Maia is beyond sweet and a cat who has so much love to give to her person. She’s very affectionate. She loves to come nudge you for pets around her ears and head and will absolutely get them. At first she’s a bit of a shy girl, but entice her with a Churu or delicious treat and she’s your little shadow, and it’s like she gets bit by a cuddle bug! That’s how I got her to come and hang out with me, and she’s been a little shadow since.
She enjoys being around her human, and whatever you’re doing, as long as she gets to be a part of it, she’s a happy girl. She’s adjusting to my other two cats in my house and doing well. I think she would be a great fit with a docile resident cat, or being alone with her human works great for her too.
She adjusts really well to people as long as you give her a bit of time and quietness to come out to say hi. Once she opens up, it’s lots of loving warm fuzzies from there. I really want the best home for her to spend her days lounging around. She’s thriving as an indoor-only cat, and I hope her new family continues that so she can stay happy, healthy, and safe.

Animal History: Her history is mostly unknown; however, I know she was living outdoors as a stray as a very young cat with a baby kitten until a woman was able to trap her to get her spayed and brought her indoors afterward. She cared for her for 6 months, but due to older cats not welcoming her into their space, I took her in as a foster.

I am a very sweet and quiet cat who is made primarily of muscle! I need a new home because my previous owners had a massive living change and gave me to a trusted friend to foster. Rooster was rescued as a stray by her current owner in 2019. We think she had a previous owner, given her excellent social skills and lack of fear of humans and small animals.
