Cat Etiquette Guidelines

Welcome to Our Feline Friends Space!

We’re delighted to share our love for cats with you and provide a safe, comfortable environment where both humans and felines can thrive. To ensure the best experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you allow the cats to interact with you on their own terms.

Each cat has a unique personality and comfort level, and it’s important to respect their boundaries. Some may seek affection, while others prefer to observe from a distance—both are perfectly okay!

Guidelines for a Purrfect Visit:

🐾 Respect Their Space: Give cats room to move freely without feeling trapped or cornered.

🐾 Let Them Make the First Move: Allow the cat to approach you rather than reaching out right away.

🐾 Introduce Yourself Properly: Before petting, let the cat sniff your hand to see if they’re comfortable.

🐾 Observe and Respond: If a cat rubs against you, they likely want attention. If they move away, respect their choice.

🐾 Move Gently: Avoid sudden or forceful movements that could startle them.

🐾 Be Careful When Picking Up: Most cats prefer to keep their paws on the ground. Let them come to you for affection. If they walk away, let them.

Understanding Cat Behavior:

🐾 Signs a Cat is Comfortable: Relaxed posture, slow blinking, a raised tail, or rubbing against you.

🐾 Signs a Cat Needs Space: Flattened ears, a twitching tail, hissing, growling, or dilated pupils.

If a cat appears stressed or overstimulated, please give them space to calm down. Never force interaction—patience and respect go a long way!

Be Mindful of the Environment:

🐾 Keep Noise Levels Low: Loud sounds can stress the cats.

🐾 Respect Their Quiet Spaces: Some cats may need a retreat area to relax undisturbed.

Thank you for helping us create a safe and happy space for these wonderful felines as they wait for their forever homes! 💛🐱
