An adult cat can be all this and more. I met a lovely seven-pound, a ten-year-old senior cat named Toots last week. Toots was adopted by my friend Jane after many months of being overlooked by other adopters due to her age. Especially in the spring and summer months, during what is referred to as “kitten season.” Kitten season begins when the weather warms up, and non-sterilized cats begin to reproduce. One female cat can produce an average of 21 kittens per year! This is why it’s so important to spay and neuter our pets as well as ferals in the community.
