We are excited to announce that Town Cats will be participating in Clear the Shelters for the 5th year in a row! We will be partnering with NBCUniversal for the pet adoption and donation campaign, which is Presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and is scheduled for Aug. 1 to 31, with an extended fundraising initiative taking place now through Sept. 15.
As part of the nationwide initiative, NBC and Telemundo stations partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to promote pet adoption and raise funds that support their animal welfare operations. Since its 2015 inception, Clear The Shelters has helped more than 1.3 million pets find new homes and has raised more than $5.6 million for participating shelters and rescues
So, what are our goals? Between Aug. 1 and 31, we’re hoping to find loving homes for 30 cats and kittens! Reaching that goal will help us make a big dent in our owner surrender waitlist, which currently has more than 40 cats waiting for help. We’re also aiming to raise $3,000 to support the cats already in our care. Whether you adopt, donate, or simply share our mission with your friends and family, every little bit helps us reach our goals.
Most importantly, we hope you’ll join us at our Gilroy Town House on Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for our Clear the Shelters adoption event! You’ll have the chance to meet adoptable cats and kittens, learn more about Town Cats and our programs, enjoy fun activities, and, of course, spend some quality time with plenty of feline cuddle sessions.
