In early September 2021, the San Francisco Animal Care & Control contacted Town Cats about taking in a "behavioral case" - a troubled one-year-old cat named Lily. Lily found herself at the San Francisco Animal Shelter after giving birth to kittens, a familiar story for young, unfixed cats like Lily. After her kittens were weaned and adopted, Lily remained at the Animal Shelter with a brewing case of "Cage Rage" - a condition where ordinarily calm animals become increasingly frustrated as they spend more and more time in a cage, kennel, or animal shelter condo.  Confident that we could give Lily the space she needed to relax - Town Cats quickly said, "We'll take her!". Naomi Smalls Goes Home!

Naomi Smalls came to our shelter as a surrender in May when she was just 6 months old. Having moderate-severe Cerebellum Hypoplasia (CH), She cannot keep her balance and has trouble walking.  CH is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is smaller than usual or not completely developed, and it has been reported in many animal species. Ensuring that her home was made safe for Naomi and doing extensive research to be able to provide her with the purrfect home, she is now happy and healthy in her…

Jewels is a cat originally from Kuwait and was part of a mass rescue effort for cats which was spearheaded by our wonderful friends at Nine Lives Rescue in Redwood City, CA. A total of 50 cats were transported from Kuwait to Redwood City by airplane to start their journey in finding forever homes. As a helpless stray cat in Kuwait, Jewels was an amazing momma cat taking care of four small kittens. She fought daily through difficult circumstances to take care of her little ones. It was discovered that Jewels was intentionally injured by a person throwing bleach in her face. The bleach caused major damage to her eyes which eventually led to the removal of both her eyes. Luckily, Jewels and her four babies were rescued. When Jewels…
