Cat Safety Tips for the Purrrfect Holiday Season!

Cat Blog Articles, Current "Mews", Holiday, News & Happenings
The holiday season should be one filled with love, happiness, and (hopefully!) worry-free days. Think Again While it can be tempting to share some turkey with your fuzzy friends, it would be best if you ignored those watchful eyes. A cat's diet can be extremely sensitive. Just as is mentioned in Town Cats' Seasonal Safety Advocacy tips, "While a small piece of boneless, cooked turkey or a lick of pumpkin are probably ok, too much Thanksgiving food can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, or pancreatitis." Dispose All Bones: Make sure all bones and carcasses are thrown away securely.…

Happy Endings: Violet and Skippi Together at Last

Happy Endings: Violet and Skippi Together at Last

Cat Blog Articles, Current "Mews", Happy Tails
Violet was trapped in the San Jose area and brought into a local shelter a while back. The shelter asked for help from a rescue organization to help care for her, as she had a severe case of URI (upper respiratory infection), and a punture wound on her hind leg. We were able to step in and help Violet, thanks to one of our wonderful volunteer fosters. While Violet was being fostered, a former adopter shared the story with her sister Skippi. Skippi was thinking about adopting and wanted a long haired young cat, and when she heard about Violet she knew this was the perfect cat for her. Skippi was willing to wait for weeks on end so this beautiful girl could have the time she needed to get…

I'm dark as night, full of adventure, and sweet like sugar.... I am a very comical guy, always curious, and I love to play! I'm a cuddler, and I love getting and giving affection! I love to snuggle and I like to explore. My tail is different, or so I always hear, but in a funny way. Scratch my  back and the tip of my tail touches the back of my head! I have a lot of personality! For example, I love to be in tunnels--something about them, I've never found a tunnel I didn't like! And laser pointers! I will chase…

Tribute to Daisy

Tribute to Daisy

Cat Blog Articles, Current "Mews", News & Happenings
Unfortunately we lost one of our longer term cat residents last week. Daisy lost her ongoing battle with kidney issues, and we had to say good bye to her. Rather than mourn her passing, we wanted to celebrate her life and share her story. Daisy came to us when Town Cats took on a local hoarding case a few years back. When she arrived she was very timid and not in the best health. After a whole lot of TLC and socializing she came out of her shell and began to blossom. She loved cuddling with her gal pal and partner in crime Miss Eartha Kitt. She was an unbelievably sweet girl who loved to show her affection by purring - she didn't even need to be petted to purr, sometimes…
