Blessing times two!

I can't believe that it has been 4 years since I adopted Haley and Boogie from Town Cats. We always had cats growing up but when you rent an apartment it is hard to find a place that accepts pets. Fortunately I have a pet friendly landlady who told me that I could get whatever pet I wanted as long as she could bring her kids by to play with my new companion. I couldn't wait to adopt. When I went to check out the kitties at the adoption event, I couldn't decide what I wanted by my friend's daughter was with me and she spotted a silver/gray kitty off to the side and said that I should get that one. A Day in the Life of a Cat for Hire Meet Tiger, a lean mean feline machine who patrols a ranch down near Calero Reservoir along with his cat buddies. Tiger arrived at his home through Town Cats. While in foster care, it was painfully apparent that Tiger was never going to be happy living the life of an inside pet. This guy had been found living outside, he had introduced himself to his foster mother by bringing birds to her patio…this was a cat who’s heart and mind yearned for open space, for the hunt, for endless opportunities to climb and stalk…but who still sought out human company. The adopter Jerri wrote this from the cats: Dear Foster Mothers, We want to thank you for taking care of us long enough for someone to find us and give us a new home. We live in a 2300 square foot cat-condo on the second floor that has over 22 windows. This makes bird watching a great pleasure and allows us to survey our outdoor territory in safety. We are so happy with our new parents too, they have plenty of love for us which helped us overcome the shyness we had while in the orphanage. It just goes to show that if you pray long enough someone will come by one day and pick you out of the litter and take you to the home of your kitty dreams.…

Lillie Bug’s Fairy Tale

One of the absolute favorite cats in 2014 at Town Cats Pet Food Express Adoption Center was 2 year old Lillie. Nicknamed "Lillie Bug". Sarah our dedicated adoption counselor said that when Lillie first came she was extremely frighten and wouldn't let any one touch her. It took a good 4-5 months before volunteers could pet her with a feather toy and then with their hands. Eventually she would jump out of her cage and would let people touch her as they walked by. She grew friendlier every month. A few days after Christmas Sally came in wanting a calm cat for her quiet home. She saw Lillie in her cage and felt so bad for her she had to take her home. Now Lillie enjoys laying with Sally while she reads a book. Of course her feathers are not far and she lays on them so…

Mary says her family adopted Skitters (aka Midori) in 2008, and “We absolutely adore her, our funny little sweetheart. Hard to believe someone would abandon an adorable kitten like her on Moorpark in San Jose. Thanks for rescuing her!! She is the queen of our household.” Sure looks like it :-)
