Happy Endings: Jackson and Alex find a new home

Happy Endings: Jackson and Alex find a new home

Current "Mews", Happy Tails
Luis and Evelyn and their 2 children ages 11 and 13 had come to Petco Blossom Hill several weeks ago when they started their search for 2 cats. They went to all the shelters looking for just the right pair, but were not having any luck. After ending up back at our Petco Adoption Center they knew instantly that Jackson and Alex were a perfect fit for them. These two boys are very high energy cats, but are also incredible love bugs. Betty Wenker, our volunteer store lead, had cared for these two boys for several months. Unfortunately they had come down with a case of ringworm and had to be isolated from other cats and regularly dipped to treat the ringworm. Throughout all of this, Betty and Jackson and…

Club Feral Cleanup Days – Help us say Goodbye to Club Feral!

All Posts
It is with mixed emotions that we get ready to shut down our outdoor location in Morgan Hill, affectionately known as "Club Feral". Town Cats has used this location for many years to house feral cats who were awaiting placement or otherwise needed help. Going forward, while we will absolutely continue our commitment to feral and "community" cats through a variety of programs, we will not be housing them at this location. There were too many problems with flooding this winter that make the location unsafe for us to use. We have taken care of over a hundred cats at this location, and just during 2016 44 cats were placed in homes through the Working Cat program, most of them from Club Feral. The Working Cat program is one of…

Happy Endings: Violet and Skippi Together at Last

Cat Blog Articles, Current "Mews", Happy Tails
Violet was trapped in the San Jose area and brought into a local shelter a while back. The shelter asked for help from a rescue organization to help care for her, as she had a severe case of URI (upper respiratory infection), and a punture wound on her hind leg. We were able to step in and help Violet, thanks to one of our wonderful volunteer fosters. While Violet was being fostered, a former adopter shared the story with her sister Skippi. Skippi was thinking about adopting and wanted a long haired young cat, and when she heard about Violet she knew this was the perfect cat for her. Skippi was willing to wait for weeks on end so this beautiful girl could have the time she needed to get…

Cat Blog Articles, Current "Mews", Happy Tails
Darth Sidius aka Siddy was adopted two months ago, and we're happy to report that she has adjusted very well in her forever home. Her new mom said... "Two months today since Siddy came home with us and we see a huge change from the first day. She is not scared of the dog. She is a master gardener .. just replanting and rearranging the indoor plant. I am so thankful that you guys took such great care of her. She is so sweet and loving." Help us to have more Happy Ending stories to tell, and spread the word about the cats we have available for adoption.

Go Orange for Prevent Cruelty to Animals Month

Current "Mews", News & Happenings
April is Animal Prevention Cruelty Month because that’s when the ASPCA’s charter was signed back in 1866. The ASPCA’s brand color is orange, so it only makes sense to “go orange” to raise awareness and help promote cat and dog rescue. Of course we think everyone ought to be thinking about preventing cruelty to animals every month, but we’re also into raising awareness any way possible, so we’re going orange in April! Sometimes it feels like there’s some kind of horrific animal cruelty news every single day — so much that you might feel like avoiding it all together. It’s easy to feel defeated and helpless, but here are some things you can do to help do your part in the fight against animal cruelty: Make a donation to your…

Meet Pirate and Ember – Available for Adoption!

Cat Blog Articles, Current "Mews", Meet Our Pets
These cute boys are currently at the Petfood Express Adoption Center, stop by and meet them (1152 Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose)   Ember  My name is Ember. I'm dark as night, full of adventure, and sweet like sugar.... I am a very comical guy, always curious, and I love to play! I'm a cuddler, and I love getting and giving affection! I love to snuggle and I like to explore. My tail is different, or so I always hear, but in a funny way. Scratch my  back and the tip of my tail touches the back of my head! I have a lot of personality! For example, I love to be in tunnels--something about them, I've never found a tunnel I didn't like! And laser pointers! I will chase…
